Summer Concert Series: Stone Soul Recap

On July 16, 2021, we kicked off our Summer Concert Series at Gallup Park with Motown hits performed by Stone Soul. Our biggest concert turn-out to date, we were so excited to see our Nellie Gail Ranch community come together to dance, eat, and celebrate. A big thank you to our contributing sponsor – The Brad Feldman Group – who helped raise over $7,000 for Team Darkhorse to support Camp Pendleton Marines. We had a huge showing of veterans at the concert, including a WWII Navy Veteran. Team Darkhorse Chairman, Karen said, “This was a huge help in replenishing our Lifeline Fund!”

Proposed Easement Planting Guidelines

Thank you to our homeowners and Committee Members who provided comments to the draft Easement Planting Guidelines that were submitted to the Membership for review in the July Pony Express issue. The draft Easement Planting Guidelines were designed with the intent of sustaining the long-term aesthetic qualities of our extensive trail system. With longer, hotter and dryer seasons, a safe system of irrigation is a core component to this proposal.

The component of irrigation raised the greatest concern in comments from homeowners and dialogue with the Committees. The Nellie Gail Ranch Board of Directors firmly believes in the strength and collective benefit that working in conjunction with our committees brings. The board has unanimously decided not to adopt the draft guidelines. Furthermore, with the input from our committee members and homeowners, the board wishes to renew a commitment to further review means for resolving existing erosion and runoff on our trail system caused irrigation run off. We appreciate the input and interest of our committee members and homeowners.
