Celebrating Safely
Fireworks are synonymous with the Fourth of July. However, the use of fireworks is banned in the majority of cities in Orange County, including Laguna Hills. Our community is home to numerous animals, including 96 horses boarded just at our Equestrian Center. Many animals flee in fear from explosive noises, and shelters see a spike in the number of admissions after fireworks displays.
For the protection of our beloved animals, fire hazards risks, personal safety concerns, and city regulations, we ask that you and your children do not use personal fireworks in Nellie Gail Ranch.
There are many fun ways to enjoy fireworks safely and legally this Independence Day.City of Laguna Hills Fireworks Show: The City of Laguna Hills will have a fireworks show on July 4th at 9:00 PM. They will also have a live band and food trucks starting at 6:30 PM. Learn more here. Dana Point 4th of July Fireworks: The fireworks are shot from a barge on the water, located off the coastline of Doheny State Beach. Learn more here. San Clemente 4th of July Fireworks Show: The flyover by the Condor Squadron can be seen from San Clemente between 5:55 PM and 6 PM before the fireworks show starts at 9 p.m. Learn more here. San Juan Capistrano Fourth of July Celebration: From Friday to Sunday, visit the San Juan Capistrano Summer Carnival where there will be food, exhibit booths, picnic games, live music, and a free trolley running from 11 AM to 10 PM Learn more here. Personal Use: Safe and Sane fireworks are only legal in the cities of Anaheim, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Santa Ana, Stanton, Villa Park, and Westminster.
