Graffiti Vandalism
/in Homepage Notice, News, Security /by Monique DiBonaventuraThe North side of Nellie Gail Ranch has been struck by graffiti vandals three times in the past two weeks. The areas hit were Bridlewood at Glen Canyon and Nellie Gail Road at Buckboard. It appears the tagging has been done by the same individuals. We have reported the vandalism to the sheriff and the city.
Our mobile patrol security vehicle is keeping a watch but we need the watchful attention of our homeowners too. If you see anything currently in progress please call 9-1-1. If you see anything suspicious, please report to sheriff dispatch at 949-770-6011. The City of Laguna Hills has a Graffiti Hotline you can call at 949-707-2656. Be sure to note the exact location of the graffiti. You may also call the mobile patrol security officer directly at 949-371-7542. However, please call the sheriff first, then the security patrol vehicle in order that the sheriff can respond to direct homeowner calls.
Cleanup is the responsibility of the owner of whatever was tagged. The city takes care of the streets, curbs, and sidewalks, Nellie Gail Ranch takes care of trail fencing and signs and each homeowner is responsible for their own walls or other improvements. Again, please be watchful and report anything suspicious.
Pickleball Court Retaining Wall Repairs
/in Homepage Notice, News, Tennis /by Monique DiBonaventuraRepairs to the deteriorating wall are well underway. The demo on walls around four of the eight courts was completed, the top course of cinderblock was replaced with concrete and rebar, the wall has been mudded and stucco is being completed today. Work on the second half of the wall surrounding the remaining four courts continues next week. This project is being funded wholly by tennis and pickleball memberships.
Clubhouse Planting
/in Clubhouse, Homepage Notice, News /by Monique DiBonaventuraIn preparation for planting the old existing plant material was removed and the top four inches of old soil along with many surface roots. Work will continue next week with new soil and amendments being added.
Equestrian Update
/in Equestrian, Homepage Notice, News /by Monique DiBonaventuraOur trainer Hayden Clarke Sport Horses and many of our Equestrian Center boarders are excited to start competing again after a long layoff over Spring and early summer. This will be their first show with the new COVID-19 protocols and best practices in place. Starting next week, the two week Blenheim Summer Classic takes place at the Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park in San Juan Capistrano. This is a prestigious United States Equestrian Federation event for the top competing classes.
Harvest for Hope

This past Wednesday’s final collection day provided for a strong finish. While the food drive may be over we do remain interested and willing to assist in harvesting fruit from trees that are producing more than your family can use. Rather than allowing excess fruit to go to waste, please remember you can always reach out to us to harvest and distribute. At some point in the future when conditions allow we would also like to host a Framers Market to share what we grow here in Nellie Gail Ranch. Pickleball Court Retaining Wall

This project funded wholly by our Tennis Center memberships will serve to protect the long term integrity of the rest of the wall and greatly improve recreation center aesthetics.
Nellie Gail Ranch Clubhouse Planting

Sign-up for Electronic Distribution of the Annual Budget vs. Hard Copy
/in Homepage Notice, News /by Monique DiBonaventuraThe Nellie Gail Ranch budget for the year beginning October 1, 2020, is scheduled to be mailed to homeowners late August. To receive your budget by e-mail instead of by hard copy in the mail, please sign up by selecting the below link. By accepting the budget by e-mail you will receive it in a format that is easy to access and store on your computer and you will save the Association the mailing cost. For each person accepting electronic mailings, we save approximately $2.50 for a potential collective savings of over $3,500. If you are one of our more than 350 homeowners who have previously signed up you are already in our system but it never hurts and only takes a moment to complete again. If you are one of our 1,057 homeowners who are still receiving hard copies of the budget and audit, please consider accepting e-mail delivery starting today!
Clubhouse Update
/in Clubhouse, Homepage Notice, News /by Monique DiBonaventuraThank you to our homeowners and club members for your patience. The exterior and hardscape clubhouse improvements have been completed!! There will be some paint touch up on Monday but the building is now complete and we have full use of the entry doors for access to the Swim and Tennis Centers. We look forward to the eventual opening of the clubhouse for our homeowners and club member’s use.
Planting will commence in the first week of August. The first step will be the excavation of 4″ of the existing topsoil that has construction debris and years of accumulated salts. Fresh soil and amendments will be placed and then planting will follow with drip irrigation. The Nellie Gail Ranch Landscape Committee will be selecting decorative boulders and actively monitoring the planting as we implement the scope of work.
