Town Hall Meeting – CR&R Waste Collection
Representatives of CR&R attended the Town Hall to review changes in 2025 to waste collection in Nellie Gail Ranch and the City of Laguna Hills.  Under the new contract with the City all waste collection bins will be changed out with new bins starting in January 2025.  Like for like containers will be swapped out over the first few months of the year.  There will be a heightened focus on organics which include landscape clippings, food waste and “small amounts” of manure & stable bedding.  Trash collection rates will change July 1, 2025 to the amounts listed on page 10 of the link.  The most significant potential impact is related to manure collection rates.  Most Nellie Gail Ranch homes with horses are disposing of manure as organics in low volume amounts.  However, some higher volume private stables are currently being billed specifically for manure collection, those rates will be increasing 91.6% July 1st.  If you have a large number of organics bins that are primarily filled with manure and bedding CR&R may begin a process of converting billing to the manure rate.  At this time we do not have information as to how much bedding may be disposed of as organic before converting to a manure rate.  That is something CR&R will be evaluating in 2025.  Attached is a handout with information provided at the meeting including  rate information and contact information if you want to reach out to CR&R with any questions regarding your personal circumstances.
