Special Meeting to Review Plan to Reopen Recreation Facilities

We have been monitoring the state and county press conferences regarding ongoing business closures and reopening discussions. We have also reviewed reports of local recreation facilities who are making moves to reopen their clubs. We are currently preparing our own plan for a phased reopening and are scheduling a Zoom video/conference call on Monday, May 11, 2020, at 6:00 pm to review a draft plan and schedule for reopening the recreation facilities. We want our homeowners, Tennis Members, Pickleball Members, and Swim Center Members to review our proposed plan for reopening and provide an opportunity for you to provide input. We know many people are ready to start participating in their sports of choice again, while others remain concerned about potential public exposure. We want to create a plan that addresses both perspectives and provides you with an opportunity to give input.

Please put the date of May 11, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. on your calendar. We will send a link to the meeting next week. Meanwhile, please safely enjoy our trails and open space and what looks to be a beautiful weekend.

Clubhouse Update

The excellent weather this week has allowed for some progress on the exterior of the Clubhouse. The first of the new concrete walkways were poured today as well as our new curbs. Trellis footings are complete as well as trenching for electrical and irrigation. It’s looking like another great weather week ahead with opportunities to continue forward.

We are not sure when the state and county guidelines will permit us to re-open but we are looking forward to seeing you all again!!

Construction on the interior of the clubhouse is complete and we can’t wait to show it off to you when we are permitted to re-open! Our May issue of the Pony Express will have more photos and descriptive information on the improvements. While NGROA Parks remain open, the children’s playgrounds and equipment are closed. Please adhere to social distancing requirements when using the parks. No gatherings.

The status of NGROA Recreation Facilities are as follows:

  • NGROA Administrative Offices  – Closed
  • Tennis & Swim Club – Closed
  • Pickleball Courts – Closed
  • Park Grass Areas and Sidewalks – Open. Group gathering is prohibited. Comply with social distancing requirements
  • Trails – Open
  • Equestrian Center – Open
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact our world and all facets of life. The Nellie Gail Ranch Owners Association (NGROA) Board of Directors are committed to protecting public health and slowing the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Nellie Gail Ranch community. NGROA Management is closely monitoring the latest information from public health officials to assist the Board of Directors in determining appropriate actions for the community’s activities, administrative operations, and facilities. The above provides a summarized list of actions taken by the Board of Directors due to the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The actions taken are consistent with the recommendations and requirements from the California Department of Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control, County of Orange, and the California Governor’s Office. These measures will be evaluated as needed, as the Coronavirus situation evolves and subsides.

This week we have completed the installation of the window casing and started staining the wood doors and windows finishing the multi-purpose room, kitchen and storage rooms. Staining will continue for another two weeks as we move to the front of the Clubhouse and then the Association office. The following remaining work is scheduled this month:

  1. Counter template measuring is complete with counters scheduled for late next week early the following week
  2. Final cabinet installation follows counters
  3. Fireplace stone is scheduled for the week of March 16th
  4. Door hardware install follows staining also the week of March 16th
  5. Carpet install is scheduled for the week of March 23rd
  6. Baseboards and baseboard painting will be last

Meanwhile, we will be able to share more next week regarding the exterior scheduling. We are aiming for April 4th to be completely operational on the interior. Thank you to our homeowners and club members for your patience.

Clubhouse Update

We are optimistic that the interior of the Clubhouse will be complete by the end of March.  Work pending as of the end of February includes final cabinet installation, wood staining, countertop installation, fireplace stonework and finally, carpet. All work is in process and scheduled and the Clubhouse interior is really coming together nicely. Come on down and take a look at the progress, play some pickleball or tennis and take a swim.

In the last few months, we have focused on completing the interior so our Members can begin enjoying the benefits of the new interior. Work is scheduled to commence on the exterior of the building and the parking lot on March 9th. We will send further scheduling updates via our This Week in Nellie Gail Ranch e-mails.

This week door and window casings have been installed throughout the Clubhouse.  Additional drywall work has been completed and cabinet installation is ongoing. We passed a city inspection milestone this week and we look forward to continuing forward next week.

The tile flooring has been installed and grouted this week.  The above photo is of the multi-purpose room.  Next up will be door and window casing and baseboards followed by carpet over the next few weeks.

Clubhouse flooring is in the process of being installed. Tiling of the clubhouse, multi-purpose room and kitchen is scheduled for this week with the reception area scheduled for next week. The carpet will follow then baseboards to complete flooring.

As we move past the second week of the new year we see work on our Clubhouse project progressing as follows. Plumbing was completed earlier this week and cabinet installation is in process.   Interior Clubhouse painting of all ceilings and walls commenced today and is scheduled to be finished by Friday of next week.  After completion of the painting, flooring is scheduled to begin the week of January 27th with the installation of carpet, tile, and baseboards throughout the Clubhouse. Our focus as we move forward is to finish the interior components of the project in order that the space is available for member use and enjoyment. We anticipate the interior will be substantially complete by late February. Meanwhile, we are moving closer to making contract decisions for the exterior and we will provide updates in the coming weeks.
