Pickleball Court Retaining Wall Repairs

Repairs to the deteriorating wall are well underway. The demo on walls around four of the eight courts was completed, the top course of cinderblock was replaced with concrete and rebar, the wall has been mudded and stucco is being completed today. Work on the second half of the wall surrounding the remaining four courts continues next week. This project is being funded wholly by tennis and pickleball memberships.

Pickleball Court Retaining Wall

Repairs to the crumbling top course of the retaining walls commenced this week and work is progressing as scheduled. This project funded wholly by our Tennis Center memberships will serve to protect the long term integrity of the rest of the wall and greatly improve recreation center aesthetics.

Pickleball Court Repairs

With the Clubhouse work now behind us, we are moving forward and focusing on other necessary reserve projects. Starting this next week, we are implementing extensive repairs to the perimeter walls of the Pickleball courts. The top course of the perimeter wall has been deteriorating, and we are implementing repairs to replace the weakened sections. This reserve project is being funded by the Tennis Cost Center reserves, which are wholly funded by Tennis and Pickleball memberships. Work will commence this next week and will take about four weeks. Work will be phased to allow four of the eight courts to continue with play during the construction schedule.

Pickleball Hours Of Play

We previously announced the Board was reviewing requests by Pickleball Members to extend the hours of play from 9 am to 8 am. After review of the constructive comments received and presented by homeowners, the Board voted Tuesday evening to keep the hours of play at the current 9 am to 8 pm timeframe. Thank you to all who presented your preferences.

Updated Tennis & Swim Club Schedule and Temporary Use Rules

As we extend our hours and allow more recreational activities to take place consistent with the state guidance regarding re-opening, we ask our homeowners and club members to guard against complacency. The state and county are encouraging the re-opening of businesses while at the same time warning of the continued need to take appropriate precautions to limit the spread of COVID-19. We welcome back our homeowners and club members while at the same time asking for heightened careful adherence by our homeowners and club members to guidance related to masks, sanitation, and physical distancing. Please don’t just rely on others to be a good example in physical distancing. BE the good example, while at the same time enjoying the recreational and social activities you love here at the Nellie Gail Ranch Tennis and Swim Club.

Paddy Speyer’s Perpetual League Champion Trophy

The Nellie Gail Ranch Tennis Club was awarded the 2020 Paddy Speyer’s Perpetual League Champion Trophy. This award goes to the tennis club that has the most teams either at the top or close to the top in their respective divisions. We participate in the Pacific Sun League and there are approximately 2000 women that play in the league throughout Orange County. It is the league’s biggest honor that can go to a club to win this award. All 6 of our teams finished in the top 5 in their divisions! Two placing first and two placing second!

Congratulations and thank you to all of our players and teams for participating and representing Nellie Gail Ranch Tennis Club in the 2019-20 season!
