This Week in Nellie Gail Ranch
From the Week ending May 8, 2026
![]() ![]() ![]() Turf Conversion ProjectA section of streetscape on the West side of Nellie Gail Road across from Dapple Grey Dr. is scheduled for conversion of turf to drought tolerant planters. Irrigation has been turned off this week and turf will begin to brown out. Demo and grading will be scheduled the week of May 11th which will be followed by planting. Metropolitan Water District (MWDOC) turf and irrigation head rebates are offsetting approximately 50% of the expense. More of these projects are anticipated over the next several years leading up to a state mandated 2029 “nonfunctional” turf conversion deadline. Four Strawberry Trees will be planted along with a colorful mix of plants shown on the attachment.
