Stinging and Burning Nettle Weed Control
Ongoing control of weeds will be occurring through Spring on the trails. Stinging and Burning Nettle is one of the prevalent weeds being battled at this time by our trail crews. Horses and dogs don’t usually eat stinging nettle, however, if they brush up against it while walking or lie down or roll on the plant, glassy hairs from the plant’s leaves and stems cause a skin reaction and an intensely painful stinging sensation that may last 24 hours or more. The standard practice for our trail crews is to weed whip the taller nettles to reduce the height of the plant and spot spray the base of the weeds and adjacent remaining weeds to limit regrowth.
Equines and pets using trails should not be permitted to eat the stinging nettle or grasses or weeds in close proximity to them. Enjoy your time on the trail and the beautiful weather.

Dapple Grey Arena
The Dapple Gray Arena will be closed for much needed base repairs on Monday, April 22 and re-opening Thursday morning, April 25. There are several soft spots in the base that occurred during muddy arena conditions. To help solidify the soft spots temporarily, Boulder Earthwork compacted the entire arena with a rolling, vibrating compacter yesterday, (Thursday) and will do it again today (Friday) to get us through the weekend.
The newly refurbished Round Pen will be open during the arena repairs.
Pickleball Court Fencing Project Update
The Pickleball court divider fencing project is near completion. The new fencing and gates will allow each court to have players in their own space without interference and balls rolling onto courts during play.

Dapple Grey Round Pen Repairs
Repairs are underway at the Dapple Grey Round Pen following the recent storm damage sustained from a fallen tree.  We are taking the opportunity to not just repair the rail fencing, but also to upgrade the round pen functionality.  We are installing 6” of decomposed granite under the new sand footing to provide a firmer base than the past soil base.
